The Club Manager is Bianca Taylor, who was appointed in April 2019. She came to us with international hospitality qualifications and vast management experience directly related to our operation.
“I was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1975. My father worked in the oil industry. For this reason, we moved to Aberdeen, Scotland, when I was 6 years old, so I speak both English and German.
I trained in Travel and Tourism. My work experience includes the Balbirnie House Golf Club in Scotland, and positions with the Marriott Hotel Group in various parts of the UK. While I was working in London, I met my Kiwi husband-to-be, Matt Taylor, who brought me to New Zealand. From 2004 I worked at the Sky City Convention Centre, and later, in Takapuna, I was part of a team that opened the first-ever Pita Pit in New Zealand. For the past 9 years I worked at Oceans Hotel in Tutukaka but now I feel ready for a new challenge.
My heart and soul are on the Tutukaka Coast; Matt and I are happily settled here with our two boys, Rocco and Toby. We have always been members of the Ngunguru Complex, and I am so proud to be your Club Manager.”
Emma Pearce was appointed as Office Administrator for the new year, January 2020 and comes with working experience in Hospitality, Business Management and Event Management.
“I am a Northland girl and moved to beautiful Matapouri with my 3 children Gracie, Ariki and Ella in 2019 for the wonderful lifestyle, although we have been visiting family here for 20 years.
My working career began in hospitality after gaining Tourism qualifications at NorthTec, then working as a senior consultant at the Whangarei I-SITE office. I then went on to owning and operating my own businesses, including a gym, where I also organized large corporate charity events and managed a non for profit organization. More recently I have been in the Event industry working firstly for Creative Northland and have been involved in lots of Whangarei and WDC events and festivals as an event and marketing co-ordinator/contractor. I have a passion for local community so I have often volunteered time to community groups, events or projects.
Some of the things I love to do in my spare time is spending with kids at the beach and on the water, fishing, paddle boarding, playing guitar, walks, writing and yoga. I am very grateful to be here”
Our resident Chef/Caterer is Gordon Sutherland who comes with a
huge amount of experience as a Chef and in the hospitality industry
from all around the world. Gordon is also a keen fisherman!
